Adverse Weather

Occasionally during winter due to adverse weather, a school may need to close. Where there is a possibility of school being closed, there are several ways to keep up to date with the latest information.

1. Check your emails/Xpressions app - we will send a message directly to our parents/carers regarding regarding any closure specific to New Machar School. It is important to make us aware of any changes to your contact details so you receive emails/Xpressions. 

2. Check our Facebook Page "New Machar School/@MacharNew"

3. Visit the Aberdeenshire Council School Closures Page.

4. Listen to the latest updates on local radio stations.

During the day where school is closed, and especially if school is closed for a longer period of time, it is important that we continue to make use of this time by providing learning opportunities for pupils to lead at home.
